Area of coverage varies according to placement and furnishings. How It Works: Pests are repelled because they cannot adapt to the constantly changing array of complex ultrasonic and sonic sounds. The ultrasonic sounds will not harm humans, dogs, cats birds or fish. But do keep unit away from pet tarantulas, mice, hamsters, gerbils and rabbits. Generates powerful ultrasonic signals that repel pests from your home or office. About Ultrasound: Ultrasonic waves are nearly silent to humans and most animals. Most pests hear sounds in the ultrasonic range. Household pests are repelled because they cannot adapt to the constantly changing array of ultrasonic waves emitted by the unit. The wave signals disrupt the pests' nervous system, greatly affecting their feeding and communication habits, thereby forcing them to leave the area. This unit may be used around humans and non-rodent pets. Ultrasound loses its intensity as it travels and is absorbed by soft objects. Ultrasound cannot reach nesting and feeding places behind walls, under floors, or within cracks. Multiple units may be necessary for larger rooms. How to Use: Indoor use only. Under optimal conditions, this Electronic Pest Repeller EP310 covers an medium sized room. Plug unit directly into an unobstructed AC electrical wall outlet. The unit functions automatically as indicated by the illuminated LED light. Operate the pest repeller continuously 24 hours a day occasionally moving to a different location. For best results,

I was having a mice problem in my kitchen, droppings every night and getting worse each night.
I was highly skeptical when I purchased these, but they were cheap and I couldn't find a no-kill trap in my area. Much to my surprise they seemed to work! The first night they were installed the droppings were reduced significantly. And after the second night I haven't seen a single dropping! They've been in for a week and still no sign of mice. I've read that rodents may become accustom to the sound and move back in, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. But so far so good!

I had roach problem and I would see about 5 per day. When I plugged in the devices, the same night I saw 8 in the next 2 to 3 hours initially, but couple of them I saw were running around like they didn't know what to do. In the morning next day, they were all gone and still gone. This thing works! If you want to have similar result, don't put out any traps with food. As the instruction says if you leave food they will still come to get the food even with devices plugged in.

I have had these in my home for 7 years or so. I am convinced they work. I am buying new ones cause the old ones starting making slight noises--they were totally quiet before.
I don't know about roaches because I don't have that problem, but I am sure they keep the mice out of my basement and home. My neighbor has mouse issues in her basement. Our houses have 10 feet distance between us, so we are close knit. I see lots of critters outside my home such as mice and chipmunks. I have never had a pest problem in my home. I keep one in my living area and one in my basement. And I gave the third to my son for his apartment.
If it's a placebo, that's OK by me!
